Gas and electrical safety checks
Keeping your home safe is our top priority. That’s why we carry out regular gas and electrical safety checks in your home.
These checks are a legal requirement and part of your tenancy agreement. They help protect you, your family and your neighbours from serious risks like fire, gas leaks and carbon monoxide poisoning.
An adult must be present at the start of each appointment, and it’s important you allow us access so we can carry out these essential checks.
Gas safety checks
We carry out a gas safety check in your home every year to make sure your boiler and any gas appliances we own are safe and working properly.
During the visit, our Gas Safe engineer will:
- Service and check appliances we are responsible for
- Test your boiler
- Check your carbon monoxide detector
The appointment usually takes between 45 and 90 minutes.
Electrical safety checks
We carry out an electrical safety check every few years to make sure your wiring, sockets and fuse board are safe.
During the visit, our electrician will:
- Check your fuse board
- Inspect sockets, switches and lighting
- Test circuits
- Check your smoke detectors
The check usually takes three to four hours.
